Werfen Life Group, S.A., has successfully completed the acquisition of the autoimmune disease diagnostics business of The Binding Site Group Ltd., a privately held medical diagnostics firm headquartered in Birmingham, UK. The Binding Site is a recognized leader in the development and manufacturing of ‘in vitro’ diagnostic tests for autoimmune diseases.
Werfen plans to combine The Binding Site portfolio with that of INOVA Diagnostics, acquired in 2008 as its first foray into the autoimmune disease testing market.
The Binding Site autoimmune disease test portfolio complements the INOVA Diagnostics’ family of products and nearly doubles the total portfolio to over 400 products and systems.
INOVA Diagnostics has a rich history of innovative and first FDA-cleared products focused on the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases such as celiac disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and systemic lupus erythematosus among others.
Brand names for the combined portfolio include QUANTA Lite™, QUANTA Lyser™, QUANTA Plex™, QUANTA Lab™, NOVA Lite™, NOVA Gel™, Bindazyme™, and Farrzyme™ assays and systems.
